Update - April

Been so lag these days .... Here are the eventful happenings of my life that took place throughout the month of April

DK's birthday
He turned 26 this year and threw him a surprise birthday party, which he only thought was just for 'family'.....he didn't have a clue his friends were attending for the nite too! Nice one..... Also that was my 2nd attempt to make a birthday cake after I did one last year for his aunt:)

Queenscliff
DK had a long stretch of off days from work so he decided to take me on a trip to this beautiful place surrounded by sea:) ---- marked my first ride on ferry here in Melbourne, which we took from Sorrento. Twas fun-we were there the whole day long!

UPDATE End March 2010

Wow, tomorrow will mark our 3 months old marriage! And, everyday we are still BLISSFULLY in love with each other, albeit the times we irk each others guts off (just like me doing it to him in return) -- u know the saying goes, 'IN LOVE EVEN WHEN NOT IN LOVE WITH YOU' ? Yes, that pretty much sums the feeling, haha!

Anyway, this also marks that we have been living in our new home pretty much close to 3 months too, well almost! We only moved in like 1.5 weeks after we got married.

Here is the latest look of our home...

Amazing isn't it ....from a dusty to a comfortable sight to see???:P

Stomach Treats!

It was a handful in the kitchen today. I prepared 7 'nyonya' dishes for my closest friends. Started at 2-ish in the afternoon and finished cooking only at about close to 7pm---and the dinner was set for 7pm too! Luckily the friends were all so 'Malaysian-timing' - sparing me the 'Gosh, I'm still not done yet!' bullshit. LOL

I only managed to capture these as the rest was totally 'ruined' look-wise, kudos to my very hungry friends!:)

PS: I'm very pleased it turned out like this as it was my very first time trying to cook 'em all!

Tamarind Prawn

Cencaluk Fried Egg
(Turned out a little saltier than expected, so next time I'll have to remind myself to put less a spoon...Meaning it's true when they say "never trust EVERYTHING in recipe books"!)

Fried Chicken in Thousand Island

YES, I'm gonna see DK very, very soon now - weeee!!!!!

We've WIP-ed; but I'm just not BLOWN away yet.

My pick for drink: Shirley Temple

Went for dinner with Shian, Dom, and Paul to this very-much-talked-about restaurant/cafe/lounge in Bangsar Shopping Centre known as W.I.P...Nothing too spectacular, food maybe btter off slightly than just being 'average' (in my opinion) and the service was....nay. We had to hold up for a table like about almost close to an hour - After being told that there were no empty tables for dine-in, they suggested perhaps we wait a while for a place...that took us 10 minutes or so. Later, the staffs cleverly got us to sit and wait at the couch/drinking area, which was a tactic to keep us from 'running away', I'm guessing - but really, after we got seated there, they kept us waiting for another 45 minutes like that! WTF.. We were all getting hungry by the minutes by now! So, though they may be very 'hot' now, but they definitely didn't impress me by their services provided, albeit the couch that was ver comfortable to sit on indeed. U SHOULD NEVER KEEP HUNGRY PEOPLE WAITING FOR ALMOST A FREAKING HOUR!!!! But the night ended well, we got loaded with foods in our tum-tums and we all headed back right after. For those you wanna try them out:

Cafe WIP
Lot G111, Ground Floor, Bangsar Shopping Centre,
285, Jalan Maarof, Bukit Bandaraya,
59000 Kuala Lumpur.
Tel: 03-2094 1789/2789
Operational Hours: Daily from 12 noon till “closing” (now what does it mean...? I dunno!)

My foodie pick: Tempura Fish Burger (Hungry Jacks' CHICKEN ROYALE tastes 1000x nicer ok!!!)

Got another activity up with the bunch of poyos tomoz! Sleep time (OMG It's 4.10am already and  here I am blogging wtf when I should be waking up in the next 3 hours!)

55 and counting...

Dear Daddy,

Happy birthday. I think you had one of THE best birthday this year eh?:)

Well, remember when you told me once how much you loved having all of us in one place gathering for birthdays, especially if it was yours? Yes, we did it this time - your wife, son, daughters, nephew, niece, your most beloved sister in-law and even her mum-in-law along with your childrens' gf/bf ---we ALL gathered together for you! And obviously, that was the best present you can ask for, and granted we did. We saw how happy you were, at least for today, on your birthday....after months of feeling down and lousy over your condition, Daddy.

You are 55 now. For most Dads, they should be still able to move about on their own business. But here you are, helpless. Yes, we fuss and sometimes fight over who should be the one looking after you! It's just that sometimes the situations we are in just make us all feel we are going through a tough time with you. I'm sure you get hurt (and I saw you cried before too) watching it happening (thinking as if we love you no more) but Daddy despite this fact, Daddy, please know that whatever it is, at the end of the day, we still and always will love you. I LOVE YOU. Something happens 'in the moment' that we need to 'let go' and that's about it. I guess.

You may not know it, but I learned alot of valuable life lessons from you. You taught me how to be kind and loving to others though we may not have all the riches in the world. You taught me that in life it's all about patience; and you will be rewarded after (although you said that I might not know what kind of reward awaits me.) As my Daddy, you always try to put me as your 'priority' - you always second yourself for me. Regardless of what people say about you, I wouldn't trade you for another 'daddy' in the world - to me, you're still my one and only Daddy.

So, Daddy, I hope you continue to have many more of your birthdays with us, your family, in the future. This birthday of yours is so special and important to me (albeit me being sick) because I probably won't be here celebrating with you next year. Although I may not be around you much next time as I will be away with my new life soon, you should know that I'm always gonna be with you in your heart. I will forever be your little 'fat girl' ; be it if we are near or apart.

Be well, Daddy. And again, happy birthday my 'BIG BABY' Daddy!!!:)

Luv,
Your Daughter - 'Fatty' Ally

Queen B takes centrestage...

Paul is so excited that we have gotten tickets to Beyonce's concert this 25th October 2009 @ Bukit Jalil National Stadium. He is SO excited that he happily purchased the most expensive ticket priced at freaking RM583 each!(I wouldn't myself, even if Beyonce happens to be my biggest singing idol whatsoever...If it was up to me, I'd prolly go with a ticket pricing at RM150 tops, but hey this is Paul we are talking about, not me...so, you know.)

A ticket bearer of this price sits just right at the back of the VIP row. Quite near to the stage. So hopefully with that said, we are gonna get a good view and shots of Beyonce on that night.

It's not like I detest Beyonce or anything, but I'm just not her BIG fan or anything-and for some reason I find her voice not up to my likings for most her songs. Then again, there are songs I liked from her. Those I never stop liking to listen to, of course. Namely songs like "Say My Name", "Brown Eyes", "Nasty Boy", and "Independent Woman" days when she was in Destiny's Child and her solo tunes like "Crazy In Love", "Dangerously In Love","If I Were A Boy", and most recently I'm ACTUALLY beginning to dig the electropop song from her entitled, "Sweet Dreams/Beautiful Nightmare" - I think she should start having more songs in this genre, cos for some reason her voice is not annoying to me when she belts out in THAT particular song so she can give me more of that, haha!

I Grew Up Watching This...

Just watching these short clips bring back good ol' memories when I used to lie on the floor and being 'all-standby' mode in front of tv at 11pm every Thursday nights for some extra baba-nyonya exposure!:)

Chop, chop, zap, zap!!!

Yes, I finally trimmed my hair! It's short now~~~I got rid of my stupid, long bangs and opted for this fringe-do instead, as it has been awhile since I last sported this style.

No, I didn't chopped my back but ya, I did give it a trim as well, as lately they were just so....unruly (+ split ends etc.)

Now now... you can stop telling me how much my hair is blocking my beauuu-ti-fulllll eyes when you are talking to me! (at least for the next 2 months or something, til when it grows back long again!LOL) XD
